In this book, Simeon the New Theologian (949 – 1022) condenses the experience of the holy ascetics of the desert, accurately describes all the fallacies of the spiritual life and teaches the art of heart prayer.

The text of Saint Simeon is accompanied by rich explanatory comments by the writer and scholar Panagiotis Asimeonoglou, as well as an instructive short story by Tolstoy entitled "The Three Hermits".

Author Biography

Ο Panagiotis Asimeonoglou was born in 1982 in Thessaloniki. He studied Physics at AUTH and since then he has been working as a Secondary Education teacher.

Although his great love is the positive sciences, for a number of years he was immersed in philosophy, theology, psychology, art, etc.

As a biosophy it has adopted a practical Christianity enriched by great traditions, such as Zen Buddhism (mainly the Vietnamese tradition of Thik Niat Hanh), North American Indians, the peace movements of Mahatma Gandhi and Tolstoy.

He has written four books:

"Breathing Exercises from the Sages of the East", (Daedaleos, 2018).
"A Jedi's Handbook, How Star Wars Can Change Your Life", (iWrite, 2019).
"The Zen of Relationships, 30+1 Tips for a Happy Relationship", (Daedaleos, 2021)

He has also contributed to the collective vol "Happiness and How to Get It", (iWrite, 2018).
