ΤThe Secret of the Golden Flower is the world's best-known book of practical alchemy in the Chinese tradition.
It arrived in the West in 1929 through the translation of Richard Wilhelm, which was prefaced by the great psychoanalyst Carl Jung. This version, however, is not complete – and according to modern researchers it is in some places incorrect.
The present work is a comparative translation in which different versions of the original text were directly used, so that the present edition is, we would venture to say, the first correct and complete one for the Greek readership.
The Secret of the Golden Flower is an alchemy book from China, drawn from the ancient wisdom of Buddhism and Taoism. Originally, this knowledge was occult until it was mystically given to Taoist practitioners by the great Master Lu Dongbin (one of the Eight Immortals of Chinese mythology).
The Secret of the Golden Flower is a practical guide to transmutation of our own selves. Through exercises to increase awareness and the Flow of Inner Light we transform the earthly into the heavenly. Matter in spirit. The "secret" gives us the way through which we can radically change our lives, blooming anew with substance and meaning.
