An Theater is the place where the eternal example of myths is visualized, and Music is the way that the human converges in the ineffable universal harmony, then the Opera is probably the greatest coupling of these two in a unique Art that aims to bridge the finite with the high and the true.
At least this was the perception of the great German composer Richard Wagner, who composed his works with the aim of introducing the artistic public to the timeless and the archetype.
The musical drama of Parsifal, perhaps the greatest opera written since the famous Ring of the Nibelungen, inspired by the medieval writing of Arthur and Wagner's own philosophical quests, depicts the hero's journey to the salvation of his soul, through the mysteries of the Grail, which carries the power of reuniting man's relationship with the divine.
The libretto of the epic opera is translated and prefaced by Fotis Papathanasiou. The edition is accompanied by rare engravings and photographs of the period.
