Textile art has always been an integral part of people's daily life and for this reason we often find illustrations as well as references in texts. The manufacture of clothes in the past was not just an artefact, it also captured experiences, needs, beliefs, social stratification, social events, identity and in general culture and intangible heritage.

The foustanella, this versatile and impressive garment, which today is one of the most powerful brands in Greece, has been identified with the Greek Revolution of 1821 and is the traditional, male attire of the Evrytans.

The study of the traditional costume of Myriki is not simply a record of the individual pieces that make it up, but it is a thorough study of the past of the Myriki people in various aspects of their lives.

Author Biography

The RAnia Antoniou he has a degree in Italian Language and Philology from the University of Athens. He holds two postgraduate degrees from the Athens University of Applied Sciences: 1. Language and Communication Sciences in the New Economic Environment with a specialization in Language Teaching and 2. Italian Language and Culture with a specialization in Linguistics. He is a doctor of A.P.Th. with a thesis in Journalistic Translation. He has studied at the Department of Creative Design and Clothing of DI.PA.E. He has participated in many conferences as a jury member, but also with presentations. He teaches in Tertiary Education, has worked in Secondary Education, in Lifelong Education and in Foreign Language Centers, teaching Italian and Spanish.
