Rena Kyrka was born and raised in Naoussa. He studied at the Mathematical Department of AUTH and worked in Secondary Education schools in Greece and abroad. He has traveled to many countries and has published articles and short stories. "The friend of Thalis" is her first novel.

Chrysoula Vardali was born in Thessaloniki. He studied Greek Philology and Psychology at AUTH. Trained in The Hague on addiction issues. He participated in the first management team of the ITHAKI Therapeutic Community, combining the study of poetry with therapy. She worked in the field of publishing and then in Secondary Education as a teacher. She has organized many programs – cultural, environmental and health education – in high schools and high schools in the country, while she has been running a Reading Club since 2007. She has been involved in creative writing and has presented her team's work at the 14th Thessaloniki International Book Fair, in 4th International Creative Writing Conference (University of Western Macedonia) and other events. She was distinguished in the literary competition organized by the National Historical Museum for "1821 and its echoes today" with the short story "Helen", which was published in the special collective printed edition of the Historical and Ethnological Society of Greece (IEEE). With Rena Kyrka, in addition to their collaboration in the writing of this book, they organized and operated the Logomathemania Mathematical Literature Reading Club for seven years.
