Two young Babylonians are forced to follow a merchant caravan on their journey from Persian-conquered Babylon to the coast of Asia Minor. Equipped with knowledge of mathematics and astronomy, taught from childhood, they are confronted with the ideas of the Ionian philosophers who changed the world's intellect and founded science. Dangers, adventures, loves and a dialogue of ideas will accompany them on their journey with an unexpected ending.
The discovery of a lost tablet with parts of Thales of Milesius, a remnant of the adventures of the ancient heroes of history, pushes modern Greek and Syrian archaeologists to their own searches, amid conditions of war, refugees, hatred and love, in the same long-suffering region of Asia Minor and the Middle East.
