The Dark Portrait

Olga Liaratzi was born in Alexandroupoli, but has been living in Thessaloniki for the last forty years. He graduated from the Philosophical School of A.P.Th. and specifically the Department of Archeology and Art. He worked as a philologist in a local high school. In the years 1984-1988 he attended postgraduate courses in History and Sociology of Education at the Free University of Brussels, as well as school professional guidance. When he returned to Greece, he became involved with the Comenius programs (student exchange between EU countries). He then attended the creative writing workshops of the writer Sofia Nikolaidou and wrote some short stories, as well as poems, which were published in collective volumes and in issues of the magazines of the Union of Writers of Northern Greece, of which he is a member.

He recently won the second short story prize in the international competition "Literature and Zoophilia" organized by the Municipality of Fthiotida, as well as an originality prize for the poem "Time" from the Amphictionia of Hellenism.
