Two families, brought together by fate before the 40s war, will experience the dramatic events of World War II. One pair of them will be a victim of the Nazi raid and will be among the 48.674 Jews of Thessaloniki who were sent to a concentration camp. After all, they will never come back. Those who will be left behind are called to chart their own path, after these shocking events. Years later, the French Rosalia, a Greek learner, with an irresistible desire to immerse herself in the antiquities of Greek culture, chooses this country for her postgraduate studies and is simultaneously appointed a professor at the French Institute of Thessaloniki. During her visit, she accidentally meets Paul, an educated and ambitious young technician. Between them, an emotional and spiritual bond will be created. In the person of Paul, he will find the model of the ideal man who can be a good guide and friend at the same time. But the girl's real guide will prove to be her past, which will lead her to her fateful future. The meeting of the two young people is not at all coincidental. A story that unfolds against the backdrop of the events before, during and after the 40s war. Through its pages, it becomes clear that the consequences of the war, which made these two young people dream of changing the world, were not limited only to the end of the war, but significantly influenced the future course of the heroes and humanity.
