Ο the title of the novel Nekri Zoni takes its inspiration from the space that Lefteris, the narrator and main character of the book, sees as a child extending outside the backyard of his house in Nicosia. The title is, however, mainly an allegorical statement about the inner world of Lefteris, which is a world of abandonment and desolation. His mother left home when he was about nine years old. THE little went through adolescence confused, unsure of what happened and which parent was responsible for his missing family, until he made a discovery.

His discovery helped him to push away and hide the feeling of rejection – which hurt him and he could not bear – behind a twisted world he constructed. His distorted perception first of his father and then of the world shaped his character accordingly and shaped his relationships with the people around him, such as those with Chloe and Vassilis. 

A random event turns out to be fateful for the course of Lefteris' life. What were the truths and what were the lies that surrounded him? What conflicts and upheavals await him at the end of the road?
