The court's decision was heavy as a catapult. "For intentional homicide: Guilty!". "For rape: Guilty!". "For drug possession and trafficking: Guilty!". The penalty? Death sentence. "Consider yourself lucky, sir, that we saved you from the lynching of your relatives. At least you will emigrate to God with dignity and not like a dog, although you would deserve it by the time we see you", were the last words of the judge.
I thought many times of standing up in court and shouting in front of everyone: "I am innocent!" to cry out with all the strength of my soul that I did not commit this crime; that it was blamed on the wrong person; that I know absolutely nothing. But I didn't. Not only because I wouldn't be able to change anything, but mainly because I would fall even lower than I had already fallen.
