“Two generations later and almost nothing has changed since then. Those who do not become and will not become servants of the system, those who do not and will not sell out their personality and soul for a vote or for a paycheck, like all of us here, will always be characterized as "inadequate, as well as weak".
Four friends, Thanos, Babis, Stelios and Spyros, try to fight and resist the new landscape unfolding in Greece in 2010, shortly before the signing of the first memorandum and the surveillance of the country by the International Monetary Fund. Music, company, meetings help them forget, not react. Acts of reaction characterize only their "objectifications", a -according to them- form of punishment they carry out against those who ensure by their attitude that the existing system in the market and the demand for labor is maintained. At some unsuspected moment, however, and while certain dichotomies arise regarding their group's course of action, the past and its open accounts will become entangled between them, and History will want to repeat itself as both a farce and a tragedy.
Five years later, in the summer of 2015, in the midst of a referendum, capital controls and the threat of the country's exit from the Eurozone having divided Greek society, each of the group has taken a different path. However, an unexpected acquaintance, a revelation, a mysterious event, but also the past, which has not definitively closed its pending cases against them, will force them to meet again, to question themselves and to revise.
A book that unites two crucial periods of Modern Greek History and has its beginning in the spring of 1941, just before the German invasion.
A story about the crash landing and uphill struggle of a generation that learned the hard way at the most inopportune time.
