The Sarakatsaniko Tseligato

Konstantinos Gallis of Dimitrios and Eleni Garelis was born in the spring of 1935 in the strata towards Tsekouria Vermio in the month of May, without being exact  date. According to his mother's confession, which he himself conveyed, he was born on the second ten days of May, on the road to Vermio, after the city of Veria. 

One of the few who caught up with the pure nomadic life, right at the edge of the country's transition from the agricultural-breeding to the urban way of life.

He is the fifth of six children in the family. His siblings (three sisters and two brothers) were or married farmers, he studied agriculture.

For two years he worked at the Agricultural Bank. He was then appointed to the Civil Service and served as an applied agronomist in Halkidiki, from 1965 to 1981. He retrained at the School of Public Administration of the Hellenic State and received a scholarship to study in England, which he declined due to family obligations. 

In 1981 he was transferred to the then Directorate of Vascular Improvements of Thessaloniki and assumed its Directorship in 1986. In 1992 he drafted and implemented the Mediterranean Integrated Program of the then E.O.K.

He retired in 1999.

Lover of hunting, long walks, reading and finally computers and the internet.

He married Maria Kotsani, from Arnea Halkidiki, who passed away in 2015, with whom he had two boys.

Today he lives in Polygyros, Halkidiki, near his youngest son Nikos.
