This biography narrates the path drawn by our great writer, Menelaos Ludemis, through the eyes and pen of his close friend, Koulis Zambathas. The author completed the text in 1959, without knowing when he decided to start it. This is a biographical work of writing, by a man who lived the development of Ludemis. At the same time, the book parades many more important figures who intervened in the spiritual life of our country during the middle of the 20th century. It is about the narrative impression of an entire generation, the political and intellectual world of the time. This generation struggled under adverse conditions for self-sufficiency, caught between unemployment, poverty and dreams.

One afternoon, the writer met Dimitris Valasiadis, who later changed his name to Menelaos Ludemis, in an old cabaret. Since then he was placed under the care of Zampatha, since the latter recognized both his talent and his poverty. Ludemis's thorny path to acclaim, the small and yet unknown stories among the intellectuals of the time, as well as the revealing correspondence listed in the pages of this book, make it without a doubt an important heritage monument for the history of modern literature. in GREECE.

Author Biography

Ο Koulis Zampathas was born in Athens in 1905, on Akominatou Street, behind the then Royal Theatre. He studied at the famous School of Plaka, with the distinguished folklorist as a teacher George the Great. He did not remember his father; when he died, he was a baby in the cradle. That's why he came out early in biowrestling. At the same time, he was writing poetry from a young age.

Belongs to the generation of '30. He was an employee of Athens Stock Exchangen, where his father also worked for some time. Later, he was appointed to E.I.R., where he wrote fairy tales about her "Children's Time". During World War II, together with the then military commander Stefano Touba, handed over his keys with tearful eyes Radio Station of Athens. That night, the clerk K. Zampathas he had a shift at the station. After several years, he was appointed to Presidency of the Government and then transferred to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from where he retired.

The 1946 pioneered the Resolution of the 73 Writers against the fascist measures, with the result that he lost his working years and from permanent to become extraordinary.

From the beginning of the War he joined its lines E.A.M. Writers, in his place Secretary, as well as in BUCKET of Writers. The Secretariat of the E.A.M. delivered her, around 1947 48, to the author Army Duke. He did not stop writing and publishing in various magazines of the time, such as "Free Letters", "The Philological New Year" etc. He was a member of the club "Like Sushi", in which all progressive writers and artists had gathered. He was a member of it Society of Greek Writers and the last one Treasurer of Board of Directors, shortly before Junta.
