Sparta 3th e.g. century.
Through the eyes of a young man, a descendant of Helots of Sparta, the magnificent and unknown story of the great kings-leaders of Sparta, Agis IV and Cleomenes III, unfolds. Agathon, by chance, is the messenger of the kings and thanks to his secrecy, intuition and intelligence he becomes their advisor and a witness to great events. Agathon participates with all his heart and strength in the first and only social revolution of the ancient Greek world, with the kings of his city as inspirations and pioneers, fighting with them for the creation of a society of free people. In the effort to propagate the new ideology, abolish the slave system and write off the debts of the impoverished population, Agathon knows the love in the person of Danae and following Cleomenes III will participate in all the military confrontations of the time against Aratus, the leader of the Achaean Commonwealth and the strongest military force of the time, the Macedonians, led by Antigonus Doson. The final showdown will not take long to come to Sellasia. Will the vision of Cleomenes III and his people, who trust and adore him, triumph or crumble?
A historical novel against the backdrop of ancient Sparta in decline and the last desperate attempt to revive it. Internal conflicts, conflicting interests, political and diplomatic background, power struggles, betrayals and lost loves in the midst of wars.
