One summer day in 490 BC, in the midday heat, a young hoplite, wounded, runs towards the city of Athens. It must convey the news of great victory but also a warning of a mortal danger. His life so far runs through his mind. Will he make it in time?

A summer day in the third decade of the 21st AD. century, an archaeologist is called to investigate a tomb found in a suburb of Athens. The tomb bears a well-known name, but the findings inside are strange and contradictory. In addition, an incredible personal involvement can be seen along the way. Will he be able to solve the mystery?

What exactly connects these two so different and distant events?

Author Biography

Ioannis I. Printezis was born in Athens in 1960. He graduated from the Leonteio Lyceum of Nea Smyrni, studied Mathematics at the University of Athens and has a postgraduate diploma in Mathematics Teaching and Methodology. He speaks very good French and English and has a good knowledge of computers and programming.

He has written several Mathematics aids for the High School, an Informatics book for the Basic language, two Practical Arithmetic books for public examinations and has translated from French a university textbook on the Teaching of Mathematics. He has published several articles in scientific journals and has given many presentations at conferences on Mathematics, Teaching and New Technologies. He has also published a biographical novel about his father's life.

He has been teaching since 1985 at the Leonteio School of Athens. His main interests include research and improvement of mathematics teaching in secondary education. Dealing with historical issues is one of his favorite activities in his spare time.
