The Falcon of the Mountains

Noula-Parthenoula Karathanasis, nee Chatzikyriakidis, was born in Molocha of Voiou Kozani to refugee parents. From an early age she showed a love for letters. In Neapoli, Kozani, she did her encyclical studies.
She married Savvas Karathanasis, and in 1966 she immigrated to Melbourne, Australia, where from 1977 she began to write. Her poems and articles were published in Melbourne newspapers and magazines. He took part as a lyricist in song festivals and distinguished himself.
It is mentioned and anthologized in the books of Kostas Giamadakis, Views and Views, 1980, Yiannis Menounos, Australia Today (1983), Eleni Nika and Konstantinas Tsounis, In Our Own Words (Anthology). Also, in the book by Yiannis Kotsaras and Yiannis Liaskou. It has been included in the research of Mr. Giorgos Kanarakis, Greek Voices in Australia (1985).
In February 1980 she published her first poetry collection, Pieces of Love and Life, and in 1996 she published her first book, Cries from the Past.
On September 15, 1966, she was honored by the "Aggelidio Foundation" for her book Cries from the Past. In a literary competition in Athens, on April 6, 1977, the Annual Collective Cooperative Publishing "Polytycho" awarded her the first prize for her book, Cries from the Past, as well as for her contribution to the Greek letters of Australia.
It has been included in the Contemporary Anthology of Poetry in 1997 in Athens, and in "Polytycho". On November 21, 1999, the "Aggelidio Foundation" awarded her a commendation for the literary work Oi kelidezimos. On February 4, 2001, "Polytycho" awarded her the first prize for her entire poetic work. He also has a remarkable anecdotal work.
