Twelve stories of mystery and horror - one for each month of the year - set in different regions and time periods of Greece. What do a school night watchman, a group of high school kids trying to communicate with a spirit, a painter who captures his nightmares on canvas, a group in a deserted haunted village, a psychologist struggling with his childhood fear of the dark, have in common? a courier on rainy Athenian streets, a soldier in a haunted watchtower, an old mirror and its elderly owner, and a group of high school students in a storm drain?

...A young woman watches uneasily as two ghostly eyes open in the sky above a hill. A researcher tries to find out what really happened in Skoteina, the ruined mountain village. Four children solve the mystery of the rusty car that is lost in the forest. A group has their first contact with the surreal and open world of horror, and a young Astronaut prepares to make his dream journey, beyond space and time. There is nothing in common in these short stories, apart from fear, curiosity and their greatest weapon, the human imagination.

Author Biography

Ο Vasilis Peslis was born in Athens in 1977, originally from Neohori Karditsa and Xylosyrtis Ikaria. He has studied Graphic Design and has worked mainly as a graphic designer, page designer and cartoonist in publishing houses.

His relationship with writing began at an early age, first through the scripts he wrote for the comics he drew, then by writing satires or children's plays, and finally through his personal blog, to which he still writes from time to time (mainly satirical texts).

In November 2020, it was released for free 42 days, his first comic e-book, while in March 2021 the sequel, 187 days. He is currently preparing the third and final part of the trilogy, as well as another collection of horror and mystery short stories.

Ο Antonis Krysilas was born in 1970 in Volos and grew up in Athens. He has published books for adults and children and has written plays that have been successfully staged in Athens and the region.

He has been considered by many to be the grandfather of Greek horror.

The Devil's Mouth is the second book he had published in the past and which is now being released revised by him, with three brand new stories, for the old to remember and the younger to be frightened.

Ο Alexis Petropoulos was born in 1997 in Thessaloniki and the first memory he had, or rather memories, is listening to stories, watching movies and getting lost in the world of storytelling. He has been reading books since he was very young, in an attempt to escape the problems that can plague a very young mind. And his love for the art of storytelling was so great that he had to become a part of it. So he studied at the Film Department of AUTH. In the intervening years, he wrote and taught about the art of dramaturgy and storytelling. By the age of 24 he has written countless stories and screenplays, several of which have somehow been transferred to the screen as short films. His love of stories is only matched by my love of all things macabre, terrifying, unholy and fantastical. And the summers he spent growing up in his village, Litochoro, on the outskirts of Olympus, simply fed his imagination. The book you hold in your hands is the fruit of that love. Hope you like it.
