Michalis Kourouvanis was born in Athens in February 1981. A year later his family settled in Zevgolatio, a small village in Messinia. He grew up listening to his grandmother's fairy tales and creating worlds, faces and situations with his imagination, while the environment around him was the best ally in combination with childhood carelessness. Play, a walk in the countryside, an exploration, were part of the daily schedule, as were painting and reading.
