Η love for a motherland that is far away. The fear of persecution, massacre and genocide. Wandering in foreign lands and countries, from the abandoned castles on the outskirts of the Caucasus to the northern shores of the Black Sea, in search of safety. The sanatoriums of Makronissos. The noise of the refugee Piraeus. The colors of Istanbul. The beloved soils of Pontos.
All these memories come alive in the memory of Nikolas Giannoulidis, born in Haskioi, Argyroupoli and settled, for decades now, in Macedonia, when he receives a letter from the lands he left behind from the hand of the old man - Osman, a refugee and he of '22, but which traveled the opposite route.
And then, between the two elders who share the pain of separation from the lands that gave birth to them, raised them and that marked them for their whole lives, a story of immense pain, nostalgia and strength unfolds. And while the story of the old man Nikolas is brought to its end, under the redemptive light that this "Letter from the Pond" emits, hard struggles are revived, unconfessed secrets are laid bare and unknown mosaics of a turbulent life take their place in the mosaic of of the life of Pontius the Elder.
