The Ringing Cedars of Russia tells the story of Vladimir Megre's journey to the Siberian taiga in 1995, where he himself witnessed some incredible spiritual phenomena associated with the sacred tree of Siberia, the Ringing Cedar. There he spent three days with Anastasia, a woman healer who shared with him her unique way of looking at topics such as growing plants, raising children, healing, nature, sexuality and religion. This experience in the wilderness transformed him so deeply that he abandoned his business plans and without any financial support went to Moscow to fulfill Anastasia's wish that he himself write a book about her spiritual knowledge. Indeed, true to her promise the life-changing book has become a global bestseller, touching the hearts of millions of people around the world. This quest novel was first published in 1996 in Russia, and has since sold over 11.000.000 copies worldwide and has been translated into twenty languages. With these books the author won in the year 2011 the Piece prize and his name was included in the Watkins list of the 100 most intellectual people on the planet.

Vladimir Megre,Vladimir Megre was born on July 23, 1950. He grew up in the village of Kuznitsy, in what is now Ukraine. He left home at the age of 16 and moved to Novosibirsk, where he worked as a photographer. He married and had a daughter, Polina. During Perestroika he started his business career and by the end of the 1980s he had become the president of the Interregional Union of Businessmen of Siberia. In 1994-95 he organized two large-scale commercial steamship expeditions on the Ob River along the Novosibirsk – Salekhard – Novosibirsk route. On this trip his meeting with Anastasia changed his life completely.
From 1996 to 2010 he wrote ten books, these are the series called: "The Ringing Cedars of Russia."
