Ο Athanasios Pernath is a diamond craftsman living in the Prague Ghetto, working on all kinds of antiques. From one moment to the next he begins to travel in strange dreams and in one of them, a stranger brings him a book whose cover needs repairing. Pernath unwittingly reads it and from then reality and fantasy become one. He sees otherworldly visions, otherworldly figures dance before his eyes and reaches the point where he can see the face of the infamous Golem around him.

In this chaos of visions, hallucinations and magic, various figures will appear around him to help or harm him.
