Naturalist or superstitious?
We must sometime unravel what we are. Sharers of right reason or religious delusion? Above all, let's not get comfortable somewhere in the middle: scientists with a candle in the icons...
This book tells the story of:
In part one (Anthropological): How it happened to us evolutionarily and the supernatural myth invaded the human psyche and enthroned itself for good, preventing humanity from cognitively and logically sorting out its existence.
In the second part (Historical): What were the dark consequences of the dominance of religions – especially monotheistic ones – for centuries and centuries, which led to the suppression of the emergence of the free human spirit.
In the third part (Critical): And today, with so much knowledge at our disposal, what should we do to stand honestly and without metaphysical evasions towards our knowledge
and ourselves, towards our children.
Centuries of belief in spirits, demons, gods and God has been our species' impulsive, mentally weak and highly manipulated response to its ignorance.
A facility to offset it.
It was, however, a burdensome inheritance from generation to generation, which we must, now that we know, proceed with its "renunciation".
Kyriakos Papadopoulos -
EXCELLENT. It deserves to be translated into other major languages and become a best seller. It should be required reading in all schools.
