Thousands of birds find refuge in a beautiful lake: Seagulls, ducks, geese, terns and many more. In our tale, however, some of the local birds, the seagulls, do not take kindly to the exotic flamingos who have come to the lake because the winter in their country is severe and their own lakes are frozen.

Seagulls and flamingos look like enemies. But when they are given the opportunity to really get to know each other, then a sincere friendship develops between them. Thus, life lights up again in the great lake with thousands of birds.

Author Biography

Η Dr. Eliana Hatziioannou was born in Larnaca in 1960. She studied at the Agioi Georgios High School in Larnaca from where she graduated in 1978. She studied as a teacher at the Cyprus Pedagogical Academy with a degree simulating from the University of Athens and then at the University of Athens where she obtained a degree in Theology. During the two years 1995-1997 she served as a teacher in the Cyprus Educational Mission of Great Britain. He obtained a Master of Theology from the University of Glasgow, while in the same year he was appointed to Secondary Education as a theologian. For two years he worked on secondment at the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute, in the field of training theologians. In 2005 he obtained a PhD from the University of Thessaloniki and in 2016 a Master in Educational Administration and Leadership from CIIM. Since 2013 she has been an inspector of the Religious Studies course. He has been dealing with children's literature for many years, writing mainly fairy tales. Her themes approach the everyday aspects of life but also the human frailties that are transformed in the end, highlighting the noble universal values.
