Can an insignificant and despised spider accomplish what resourceful elves and powerful and respected animals have failed?
Can such a tiny bug have the courage of his opinion in front of the mighty king of animals?
Can an animal so different from the others have its own special value, solve problems and put its own piece in the big puzzle of life?
...It all started when a bolt of lightning pierced the wing of the fairy Kalendula...
A tender story about solidarity, the power of opinion, the value of diversity.

Vanessa Andreadis was born in Athens, studied at the Law School of the University of Athens and specialized in tax law. He got an MBA and has been working for 16 years as a Legal Advisor in a multinational auditing company.
Ever since she could remember, she was fascinated by the magical world of fairy tales and created stories with her imagination, but it seems that they remained trapped in an invisible net at the edge of her mind. Stories that were waiting for something or someone to be released.
And then she became a mom... With the arrival of her two daughters, the net seemed to be cut and a whole imaginary world was finally set free. From the legal books and opinions, fairies and elves, words, everyday stories and many colors began to emerge... that wanted to come to life in children's hands and in the hugs of parents who dream of being children again! Thus, the first story from the adventures of the Calendula Fairy - "The Black Spider" was born...
And a few words about the illustrator...
Natalia-Elene Pittliger, although she was born and spent her childhood years in Athens, from a young age she constantly made leaps from the world of her neighborhood, to the world that was slowly being built from the stacks of papers with her drawings.
Her passion for painting became evident from the first moment she put paper and pencil together, and to this day it is the energy that fills her batteries. She spends endless hours in front of books filled with sketches of all manner of characters and landscapes, enchanting and strange, letting her imagination flow from the tip of her pen.
She attended painting classes in a design workshop for three years, while at the same time she taught herself the techniques of digital painting on the computer. This love of hers for design is also the reason why she is currently studying at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in the Department of Visual and Applied Arts, taking her first steps as an artist.
In addition, she had the great pleasure at the age of 20 to close her first job as an illustrator, giving form to the wonderful fairy Calendula and her wonderful world.
