A historical novel taken from the Homeric Epics!
8th century BC
Four hundred years after the terrible Trojan War, Greek adventurers explore and begin to dominate the vast seas of the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. Royal powers are overthrown and many cities become autonomous and become states. In this changing world, two separate men are bound by a brotherly, lifelong friendship. The one from Ithaca, a bold seafarer, curious and resourceful, whose lineage he holds from Odysseus, the swashbuckler of Troy, and is the last of his generation to bear the proud name of the renowned king. The other from Smyrna, studious, curious and gifted by the Muses with the sacred gift of music and poetry, who, while his parents named him Melisigenis, everyone for some reason calls him Homer.
The adventures and travels of the two friends present the image of the era they live in, highlight the values of friendship, hospitality, courage and above all the value of music and poetry.
A historical novel inspired by the Homeric works of the Iliad and the Odyssey brings the magic and beauty of narrative epic poetry to the present day.
