Η Tundra it functions as a postmodern oscillation between art and geography. Forty-four poems and an epigraph highlight an emotional geography of the city and the soul, collecting fragments of the everyday, the transitory, the fleeting, the intermediate, the repetitive, the potential – 'refining the eternal from the transitory' (Baudelaire, 1859).

Author Biography
Vassilis Psarras (1985) is an artist and lecturer at the Department of Performing and Digital Arts, School of Fine Arts of the University of Peloponnese. In the past, he has taught at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the School of Music and Audiovisual Arts of the Ionian University - where he conducted his postdoctoral research with an IKY scholarship on the inter-artistic connection of contemporary art, performance and Geo-Humanities studies. He is a Doctor of Goldsmiths, University of London (AHRC Fellow) with studies in audiovisual arts (Ionian University) and postgraduate studies in digital arts (University of the Arts London). His research focuses on the emergence of a hybrid flaneur of the 21st century city, investigating issues of ambulatory action, senses, emotion and embodied technologies. His artistic act is approached through visual installations, site-specific/walking performances, video art, music and poetry and is inspired by the poetic and political aspect of the urban experience. He has participated in more than 60 exhibitions and art festivals in Greece and abroad (Europe, America, Australia), group exhibitions (Onassis Foundation of Letters and Arts, Benaki Museum, ROOMS2013, Thessaloniki Concert Hall, Something Human UK, Washington Experimental Media) and cultural organizations.
His interdisciplinary research is found at the connection of contemporary art, urban studies and media arts and has also been presented in a number of international scientific journals (LEA MIT Press, Technoetic Arts, IJARTS) and conferences (ISEA2013 etc.). He is a musician having released digital albums in the spectrum of rock and ambient music. THE "Tundra" is his first poetry collection.
