The Next Leader - novel

| iWrite Family of Writers

How important is writing to you?

I have blind faith in the healing properties of writing. Through her you exorcise demons. External and internal. Mainly the latter. When you discover its redemptive and liberating power, that sweet blow of the wind in your face, the rest of the gifts slowly begin to unfold in front of you. Because writing is the world's most generous godmother. She takes you by the hand and leads you to the most unexplored worlds, makes you feel the excitement of the little kid in the amusement park, gives you all the caresses, generously gives you her company when you feel lonely, plays with you even when all the others are tired. And maybe, if you're lucky or if you try hard and succeed, she'll reveal her most secret hiding places.

“My first contact with iWrite – Source Standard Editions gave me very positive signals. When I was convinced of the interest and enthusiasm of the publishing house for my idea, I thought that we have a very good basis to move forward."

How did you feel when your book was published and you held it in your hands for the first time?

I held it tight for a few minutes as if it were something fragile. I found this first reaction a bit funny and exaggerated, but it would be a lie if I said I wasn't moved. The parallel that many make between the birth of an intellectual / artistic work and the birth of a child is not accidental, however extreme it may sound. I imagine, of course, that nothing compares to the creation of a new life, but if you haven't experienced this, then yes, especially your first book, you look at it a little like you're staring at a baby.

Why do you think you made the right choice with iWrite.gr?

My first contact with iWrite – Standard Editions Source gave me very positive signals. When I was convinced of the interest and enthusiasm of the publishing house for my idea, I thought that we have a very good basis to move forward. I didn't want a lukewarm and hesitant yes, so the trust that the people at iWrite Publications showed me from the beginning of the process counted for a lot in me. Then, throughout the course of the creation of the book, from the editing and selection of the cover to the release and the organization of the presentations, I had the pleasure of witnessing the perfect collaborative atmosphere, the creativity of its people, the willingness and the will for continuous improvement. I believe that in such a difficult economic situation that fatally touches the publishing field as well, it is important to see young people full of appetite constantly trying to overcome obstacles, to conquer a better position in the book market.

Your first impressions of the "journey" of your book, which has just begun?

The first feeling is like opening a box of chocolates. So, the taste is sweet. The presentations in Thessaloniki and Athens gave me moments of unprecedented joy, emotion and gratitude for the undivided support and love of the people who embraced this writing project. The comments and reviews of those who have caught up and read it are already giving me wings to keep writing and I hope this is not taken as a threat!
