The Green and Just Transition is directly related to the quality of the economic, social, ecological and cultural life of citizens. A Sustainable path for the country requires us to change the production model, to rely on our own strengths, determining our own future, autonomously and democratically.
With the exception of the period 2009-2011, when we undertook relevant initiatives, the State was not able to take the necessary decisions. Thus, the issue is settled.
The responsibility for this rests with those political forces that refused to face the real causes of chronic pathologies and, even today, ostrich, in order to avoid their responsibilities and not to clash with interests and establishments.
George A. Papandreou-Former Prime Minister
Four superimposed crises: economic, climate, health and energy, now shape a new reality. Any planning for tomorrow requires the use of other data. Giorgos Arvanitidis, Member of Parliament for Thessaloniki, Deputy Secretary of the Parliamentary Group of PASOK-Movement for Change and Head of the Parliamentary Sector for Environment and Energy, presents through the pages of his book the main stages of a journey of almost five years, highlighting:
- the vision of a Green and Just Transition with citizens as protagonists.
- the need to adopt a more sustainable production model
- energy democracy with equal opportunities for all.
- the solutions that respond with resilience to the challenges of the climate crisis.
