Ο Faust is not the only one who sells his soul to the devil in order to remain forever young. He does not seek only the truth and the joy of life. He is not content with seducing Margarita and Fair Helen. He does not abandon them thoughtlessly. It is much more, because Faust is You and Me. Where we enjoy life, have adventures, fall in love, mourn our losses and heal our wounds, trying to understand ourselves.
In the present study, the multifaceted Faust works on multiple levels: in the theoretical part we adopt his philosophical spirit, to explore the way cinema affects the human psyche and cultivates it in order to develop. The scientific dimension of Faust is found in the methodological part, where psychological processes are recorded during the use of films, in the context of Cinematherapy or Cinema Coaching sessions, in order to systematize them in the respective models. In Faust's eyes in the films of the same name, people who visit psychotherapists and coachees face their own truths in the applied part. We watch them recognize in the cinematic figure their own needs and anxieties and co-shape their path towards awareness.
Both the familiar readership, who will make professional use of the catalytic power that Cinema possesses, and the general public who will use the book as a study of psychology and self-awareness, will discover aspects of the cinematic universe within themselves and will realize that ultimately the Faust it is indeed You and I.
