The Flute of Panos
Representatives of the ancient world comment on modern reality
"O Avlos tou Panos" is a collection of original fictions, in which ancient Greek philosophers and figures of the ancient world visit the present and, through their particular personal philosophical positions, place themselves on contemporary situations and phenomena. The commentary on the persons is sometimes done in prose, sometimes in a dialectic, even in a poetic way. The texts deal with a wide range of topics, including consumerism, education, wealth, modern slavery, prostitution, homosexuality, as well as other social phenomena, hallmarks of our own and ancient times. The characters in the play are surprised, frightened, worried, anxious, saddened or excited by the events in which they are involved. Through these adventures, the teachings of the ancient world unfold and a forgotten code of ethics emerges that is as relevant as ever. The texts are accompanied by a short biography of the protagonist as well as additional historical material.
