Tango in blue nights

O Vassilis Manousakis loves poetry, short stories and cinema and deals with all three, writing, translating or teaching them at universities and organizations in Greece and the USA.

He writes in Greek and English and many of his poems and short stories have been published in New American WritingAt Hayden's Ferry ReviewAt Live Encounters and Wandering, including. His meeting with the poet Yiannis Patilis and the magazine Wandering planted the seed for his preoccupation with the short story. Thus, he was a founding member of the blog "Bonzai Stories", dedicated to the short story. He has also edited the special tribute to modern Greek poetry for the magazine Drunken Boat 19.

In November 2020, he began teaching for the New York Writers Workshop, the American organization for the promotion of creative writing. From February 2023 he teaches at the American College (Deree) and from October 2023 at the University of Patras. He also volunteers to teach creative writing in prisons.

The application of psychoanalytical approaches to literary characters in his teaching led him to studies in psychology and now he works simultaneously as a mental health consultant and collaborates with the Roots Wellness Center (www.roots.gr).

This is his fifth book. The first with stories of Bonsai that bloomed.
