We all know that H. F. Lovecraft was one of the most important authors of horror stories, as well as the father of the Cthulhu Mythology. What is little known, however, is Lovecraft's fervent love of poetry. He himself, in fact, and while still a child, had composed a poetic summary of the entire Homeric Odyssey as the classic works and especially the Greek literature - with an emphasis on the pagan elements of the ancient world - were among his favorite readings.

Lovecraft was first a poet before becoming a prose writer and narrator of the Cthulhu Mythology.
