The purpose of the book is students' understanding of how policy is produced at a global level. In this direction, the first part of the book (chapters 1-2), examines the central concepts as well as the main theoretical approaches of world politics through a modern and critical perspective. With this background, the second part (chapters 3-8), examines and analyzes all categories of global political actors and their synergistic interaction. In particular, it examines the modern role of the state, the spread of its powers and the challenges it faces, with a parallel discussion of the structures of regional integration and global governance, as well as the non-state actors (businesses and NGOs) who in many cases cooperate in formulating and making decisions. The aim of the book is for students to understand the complex processes through which different actors shape policy in the global system. Overall, the proposed book seeks to move away from simplistic and mono-factorial considerations and to show the complexity of the processes and structures of global politics through the increase of the categories of international actors, as well as the multiple ways through which they co-shape the global scene. It attempts, in the same context, to demonstrate the transition from international to global politics and to frame the traditional issues of national interest by highlighting the need to provide global public goods.
