Η Queen Leda, the beautiful wife of King Tyndareus of Sparta, mysteriously disappears from the reed beds of Eurotas while there making offerings to the river god.
Tyndareus goes to the oracle of Delphi. He is given an ambiguous oracle that puts him in a lot of thinking. But when he returns to his palace, he is faced with an event that makes him forget his problems for a while. The beautiful Eriphyle, queen of Argos, waits for him as a supplicant at the altar of Hestia, in the throne room. Next to her is a uniquely beautiful gilded trunk. Eriphyle's temporary residence in the palace becomes permanent when the king marries her.
Eriphyle, now queen, with the help of the goddess Hera makes plans to remove the princes and princesses from the palace. Her nefarious plans are directed against Helen more because the epithet "Nice" accompanies her.
Helen finds refuge in the house of the nine Muses. Erifuli, however, through intrigues and lies, reaches the point of threatening Helen's life itself.
Will Leda be found? What does the gilded chest contain? Will Erifuli succeed in her plans? What will happen to Eleni?
