They say that one carries one's place within oneself wherever one goes. They say that the homeland lives in us, no matter how many homelands we know. And it is true that the place where we were born, the place where we lived our first childhood years, seems so ideal to us. Even if we have traveled around the world with its beauties, our thoughts always run back there. Where we saw the light of day, where we took our first steps, where we gained our first experiences. As the years pass and life gets shorter, our thoughts run back to the place we loved. I have known cities and villages, lakes and seas, places far and wide, I met our blue sky elsewhere. And yet, so many foreign beauties could not eradicate from me the love for my country. That little dot on the map, that plateau, hidden by the surrounding low mountains. That now deserted place, once full of people, children's voices and laughter, and the surrounding slopes full of animals, bells and flute sounds. Somewhere, distant from the main village, about six kilometers away, on a plateau were built the five buildings of the settlement. A neighborhood of twenty-twenty-five people, built over many, many years, in the green with all sorts of trees around it. A large oak tree dominated the house next door, another one at the entrance to the street. It reminded a bit of "Atlanta". So we all lived together, we had nothing to envy from Scarlett O'Hara's Tara.
