The "Elysian Fields" it is a digital paradise. It is an experiment that takes place in a private laboratory in the Greece of the future. Volunteers suffering from incurable diseases wish, before they die, to pass their consciousness to this reality. In addition to them, artificial intelligence characters also enter the world, in order to serve them and fill in the various gaps. People who pass through start a new life. In it, they do not take long to put into practice passions that they had suppressed for years, to even follow thoughts that they did not dare to confess even to themselves in their lives.

What will happen when the experiment is stopped for financial reasons? What will be the fate of people within the system? How will they interact with the AI characters? And most importantly, where will their passions lead them?

An adventure full of twists comes to put reflections on the topic of artificial intelligence and, above all, to put perceptions that are entrenched in our minds on a completely new basis.

Author Biography

Ο Nikos Ferentinos was born in 1978. Lives and works in Patras. He is a graduate of the Medical School of Patras and then a Specialist in Pathology in Ioannina. One of the most important chapters in his life was his active participation in movements of his time. During his student days he took part in the movement against globalization, then in the movements of the squares, against the memoranda brought by the Greek crisis. Writing has always been a secret passion and at the same time a refuge where he recorded thoughts and reflections. From a young age he loved literature, being open to all currents, while he managed to prepare his own texts as a child. From that age he became acquainted with science fiction, as he came into contact with the work of Jules Verne. He was always fascinated by the biographies of great scientists whose inventions contributed to progress, as well as science itself.

In 2019, he released his first personal novel, also a science fiction novel "Username: The Sea Peoples".

He works as a private doctor, has a family and two children.

Messages from the Champs-Élysées is a book that will surely trouble you and make you question all the technological ideas that are going to improve or prolong human life. People's lives within the system seem ideal, restful, stress-free about the problems they faced in their previous lives. But what happens when man does not strive to obtain what he desires?

The idea of the book is clever, because Nikos Ferentinos tackles an idea that has and continues to preoccupy many people: the avoidance of the only inevitable in human life. With indirect but obvious reflections on human nature, with relaxed, everyday writing, and with lively dialogues, the author composes an interesting read for a tomorrow that is no longer so distant.

The book clearly belongs to science fiction and represents the genre well. I personally found it well written and particularly detailed without leaving gaps in his narrative and the world he created. Incredibly interesting and I definitely recommend it!
