What exactly do we mean when we talk about Separation of State and Church in Greece? What are the historical, political and social factors that make it necessary? What will be the benefits for citizens in the fields of Education, Economy, Politics and Justice? And for what reasons does the level of Secularization in our country make no particular sense to be compared with other European states?
In this study, the journalist Minas Papageorgiou carries out an in-depth investigation, from the centuries of Byzantine rule until today, which aims to highlight the necessity for the Separation of State and Church in our country. He talks to 11 personalities from the fields of politics, academia, justice, economics and activism, while at the same time gleaning the most important events that marked the relations between the State and the Supreme Hierarchy during the 21st century in Greece.
