Detective Perdeau is enjoying his last days in the Ile de la Cité Department just before his retirement at the expiration of time when young Marie Soulier, scion of a well-known family of the Parisian elite, is found wandering the alleys of Montmartre with the clothes and her hands dipped in blood.
"It is if you think so," Marie boldly replied in Pirandello's familiar line and pulled her black tuft of hair away from her eyes, placing it in a slow motion behind her ear and revealing her precious pearl earring. with the pink diamonds her father had given her when she was born.
To Detective Perdeau's persistent questions in the interrogation room, Marie has only one answer on her lips, "So it is if you think so," and only one image in her mind, Juliet's dead body in her apartment.
For Marie it was impossible to record what she was thinking, everything that was in her mind, everything that had happened in the last months, the last days, the last hours. Even she was trying to understand what had happened.
Detective Perdo and policeman Clement undertake the investigation of the case in search of an ally, but how can they succeed when perpetrators and victims constantly change positions and time relentlessly pursues them?
In the shadows of deception, the truth hides its real face. Through this detective book, a fascinating journey into the mysterious depths of a crime begins. Nothing is as it seems. Unless...you think so!
